State takes on cop sex probe
The state Attorney General's Office will investigate allegations that a Greenville-West Salem Township policeman sexually harassed five women, according to Mercer County District Attorney James P. Epstein.
One of the women is a former police dispatcher, two never worked for the borough and two were the dispatchers who leveled claims of sexual harassment against the policeman in November, Epstein has said.
The policeman, who has not been identified, has been suspended with pay since Dec. 16.
Epstein cited a conflict of interest in his referral of the case early this month. He said he knows the people involved.
Epstein said state investigators will decide if further investigation is needed and prosecution is warranted.
