CompanyB boogies to beat of Hollywood, Broadway

CompanyB will perform "Music from the Stage & Cinema" at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 23 at St. Joseph's Church, Sharon.

The program will include selections from Broadway shows "Cats," "My Fair Lady" and "The Wizard of Oz" and MGM film musicals, "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy," "Seasons of Love" from "Rent," and songs by Irving Berlin and George M. Cohan.

The singers will take a break for the piano solo, Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue."

CompanyB is made up of members of St. Joseph's music ministry: choir director Nancy Rehner of Sharpsville, singers Jim Earnhart of Burghill, Mikal Gonzales of Sharon, Mary Messina of Sharpsville, Ted Miller of West Middlesex and Mary Stephenson of Hermitage, and pianist Keith Lepak of Sharon.

Guest accompanist will be Cynthia Brea Ward of Sharpsville. Susan McLaughlin of Hermitage will narrate, Joseph McLaughlin of Sharon is director of lighting and Barb Becker is stage mistress.

Proceeds from the show go to the St. Joseph's organ fund.

Tickets are available at the church rectory, and will be sold at the door the night of the concert.
