Workshop focuses on caring for treesMaster Gardeners of Mercer County Cooperative Extension will hold a workshop on Tree and Woody Ornamental Care from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday in Leslie N. Firth Learning Center, U.S. Route 19, north of Mercer in Coolspring Township.
Master Gardener Frank Wiencek, an International Society of Arborculture certified arborist and member of the National Arborist Association will direct the workshop.
Topics to be covered are: plant selection, planting, mulching, pruning and maintenance, plus apple- and peach-tree pruning.
The entire event will be held outdoors.
