FARRELL, SHARON

Charges held against Farrell man

A Farrell man charged by Southwest Mercer County Regional police with drugs and weapons violations will be facing those charges in Mercer County Common Pleas Court.

Raymond Wilson, 27, of 802 Lee Ave., Farrell, was charged with carrying a firearm without a license, being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, possession of cocaine and marijuana and possession of cocaine with intent to deliver.

District Justice Henry J. Russo, Hermitage, held all charges for court at a preliminary hearing Feb. 13.

Southwest filed charges Jan. 3 for an incident that allegedly occurred Nov. 28.

Sharon police spotted Wilson along George Street and called for assistance from Southwest to arrest him on a warrant charging him with failing to make payments, police said.

Wilson threw off a coat and ran, but was caught shortly afterward at George and Fruit Avenue, Farrell, and handcuffed after a brief struggle, police said.

Wilson had a bag of cocaine, a bag of marijuana, $19 and a pager on him, police said.

A revolver with five rounds of .22-caliber cartridges and a spent shell were found in the coat, police said.

Wilson also is facing Sharon police charges of terroristic threats, criminal mischief and harassment for allegedly throwing a large rock and an empty liquor bottle through a window of a home in the 400 block of Prindle Street, and threatening to kill the woman inside on Christmas Eve, police said.

The Sharon charges were previously held for court by District Justice James E. McMahon, Sharon.

Wilson was taken to Mercer County Jail after failing to post $10,000 bond. He also is held on $10,000 bond from the Sharon charges.
