WHEATLAND, HERMITAGE

Masury man waives all charges to court

A Masury man made the unusual move of waiving three sets of criminal charges to court at his arraignment Friday.

Michael A. Redmond, 30, of 1030 N. Stateline Road, waived his preliminary hearings, which would have been set for a later date, before District Justice Henry J. Russo, Hermitage.

The cases will go to Mercer County Common Pleas Court.

Redmond was charged by Southwest Mercer County Regional police with theft and receiving stolen property, and Hermitage police in two cases with two counts criminal trespass and one count each intimidation of a witness or victim and terroristic threats.

Redmond was arrested Feb. 8 and cited with prowling and loitering at night after police found him in a shed behind 72 Canal St., Wheatland. He had several tools on him that did not belong to the owner of 72 Canal, police said.

A day later, police found a tool box on Balm Street.

On Feb. 24, police took a report from a woman who said a tool box had been at 108 Chestnut St., Wheatland. When the owner went back for it, the box was missing but some tools were left on the ground.

The owner of the tool box identified the tools that Redmond had on him Feb. 8 as his, police said.

Hermitage police said Redmond broke into a house at 12:01 a.m. Monday at 1425 Bolde Drive.

At 6:35 p.m. Tuesday, he called the woman whose house he had broken into and said he would kill her if she pressed charges, police said.

Redmond was released on his own recognizance.
