Illegal immigrant nailed speeding; INS called inAn illegal immigrant from the Republic of Georgia was stopped for speeding at 5:10 a.m. Monday on state Route 18 near Wilson Road, Hermitage police said.
Giorgi Natadze, 39, of New York City and most recently, Columbus, Ohio, was detained when he could not produce papers to verify that he was in the country legally, police said.
Natadze was held in the Shenango Valley Regional Lockup in Farrell until he was released to the Immigration and Naturalization Services Monday, police said.
Natadze has about $1,800 in unpaid traffic fines in New York and should have left the country several years ago, according to information police received from INS.
