Benefit to include football stars

A benefit Saturday in Hubbard will help local cancer patient Denise Sonnenlitter through her hospitalization and hoped-for recovery..

The 24-year-old Hubbard woman was diagnosed with kidney cancer on Feb. 27.

The benefit is from 6 to 11 p.m. in the basement of St. Patrick's Church, 357 N. Main St., Hubbard.

Local football stars R.J. Bowers and John Kolb will sign autographs from 6 to 8 p.m. for a $5 donation. Staples, Copy Land and Sharon Regional Health System donated the photos.

An autographed 1970s Pittsburgh Steelers limited edition print, including 22 signatures, will be auctioned with a minimum $300 donation.

There will be caricature drawing from 8 to 11 p.m.

J&J's Dancing Family will give a special performance from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

A bake sale, Chinese auction, door prizes, concessions, 50-50 raffle, face painting and lottery giveaways are planned. Disc jockey John "The Music Machine" Angelo will be on hand from 6 to 11 p.m.

A $5 donation, which includes ticket for door prize drawing at 7 p.m., will be taken at the door. Donation is $1 for those 6 and younger.

Donations can also be made to the Denise Sonnenlitter Fund at all Sky Bank branches.
