SHENANGO TOWNSHIP

Man charged with stealing from uncle

A West Middlesex man has been charged with stealing $15,000 from his uncle's business, police said.

Robin Seeram, 22, of 25 Walnut St., was charged with theft March 27 at home, police said.

Seeram started work July 1 at the counter of the Sunoco station at 3371 New Castle Road, Shenango Township; the station is owned by his uncle, Somartie Kocchar, police said.

Irregularities were discovered in his sales records for lottery sales and payoffs, police said.

Records for shifts Seeram worked showed an unusual number of voided sales to customers, along with the same amount of cash missing from receipts, police said.

Seeram, who resigned March 9, admitted to taking some of the money but claimed that others were doing the same thing, said police, adding that the investigation is not complete.
