Sharpsville school directors, for the second time, on Monday unanimously approved a $575,000 loan to pay for new bleachers at the football stadium and renovations at the former Seventh Street Elementary School.

The board originally approved the loan March 21. Superintendent Dr. Derry Stufft said, according to state law, the board must advertise the loan before it is approved, and then again after it is approved.

The district will borrow the money from First National Bank of Pennsylvania.

A total of $280,000 of the money will go toward the bleachers, $284,647 will go toward the building renovations, $38,195 is earmarked for architect's fees and the rest will be placed in the capital improvement fund.

In November, the board awarded a $280,197 contract to Jim Santini Builders, Washingtonville, Ohio, to install the bleachers. They are scheduled to be ready for football season.

The Seventh Street building was recently renovated into district administrative offices as part of the elementary building project.
