FARRELL

Drive-by shooting case goes to court

A Farrell man charged with firing a gun at a car carrying six people has agreed to let his case proceed to Mercer County Common Pleas Court.

Lamar L. Wilder, 22, of 1141 Fruit Ave., agreed to a stipulation at his preliminary hearing last week before District Justice Henry J. Russo, Hermitage, that if witnesses were called, the prosecution could show that a crime occurred and that he might have been involved.

Wilder was charged with six counts each of attempted homicide and reckless endangerment, 12 counts of aggravated assault and one count of carrying a firearm without a license.

Wilder was charged with firing shots from a Jeep as it passed a car Feb. 19 in the 200 block of Roemer Boulevard in Farrell, police said.

Two people in the car also have been charged:

  • Donnell T. "Deacon" Stubbs, 20, of Warren, Ohio, with two counts of attempted homicide, four counts of aggravated assault, five counts of reckless endangerment and one count of carrying a firearm without a license

  • Terrell A. "Styles" Myrick, 21, of Warren, Ohio, with two counts of conspiracy to commit homicide, four counts of conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, five counts of conspiracy to commit reckless endangerment and one count of carrying a firearm without a license.

On March 15, Stubbs and Myrick stipulated to the charges at their preliminary hearings, and the cases were sent to court.

Wilder was returned to Mercer County Jail after failing to post $5,000 bond.
