MERCER COUNTY

MCIDA approves loan to Behavioral Health

The Mercer County Industrial Development Authority board on Friday agreed to lend more than $2 million to Mercer County Behavioral Health Commission Inc. to expand its building at 8406 Sharon-Mercer Road in East Lackawannock Township.

The $2,779,779 project includes the purchase of 2.76 more acres and a 6,500-square-foot expansion of the commission's 18,000-square-foot building.

MCIDA is funding $2,650,000 through First National Bank of Pennsylvania; the rest of the project cost -- $129,779 -- is in equity, MCIDA said.

The project is expected to create an additional 17 jobs over three years and maintain the existing 72 full-time jobs.

The commission assists people with drug and alcohol, mental health and mental retardation needs.
