Shenango clean up day is Saturday

Shenango River Watchers will hold its second river cleanup of the season Saturday, concentrating on the downtown Sharon section of the river.

Helpers will meet at 9:30 a.m. in the Sharon City Center parking lot, under the blue tent.

The cleanup will last about four hours, followed by lunch.

Mike McLaughlin, chairman of the cleanup committee, asks that anyone interested call him at (724) 528-1102 to register. Registration helps the group plan how much area it can cover.

Future cleanups will be held May 25, June 22, July 27 and Aug. 24, with locations to be announced.
