Drug, gun charges head to court
Charges filed against two people following a search of their Farrell home that turned up drugs and guns have been held for court.
Tyrone Peagler, 41, and Sonja Jones, 34, both of 258 Hamilton Ave., Farrell, were charged by Southwest Mercer County Regional police with possession of crack cocaine, powdered cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and possession of cocaine, crack and marijuana with intent to deliver and conspiracy.
Peagler also was charged with two weapons violations.
Police accompanied Trumbull County Probation Department agents, who were looking for Peagler, at 10:46 a.m. April 5, police said.
A search of the home turned up a .22-caliber pistol, a .380-caliber pistol, 46.5 grams of crack cocaine, 156.2 grams of marijuana, 16.6 grams of powdered cocaine, $5,000, rolling papers, bags, cutting instruments, straight shooters used for smoking crack, and an unknown brand of pills, police said.
At a preliminary hearing Wednesday, District Justice Henry J. Russo, held all charges for court.
Jones was released after posting $10,000 bond.
Peagler was taken to Mercer County Jail after failing to post $50,000 bond.
