Mother tongue gets a serious workout; local students win big at English Festival
Local students took part in English Festival 2002 in April at Youngstown State University.
The following local high school students won individually or as team members in festival contests:
Not-So-Trivial Pursuit -- Leeana Chetsko, Badger; Bryna Clover, Wilmington High School; and Kayla Lenkner, Greenville High School, all first prize; and Jessica Miller, Kennedy Catholic High School, Hermitage, second prize; and Nicholas Brink, Sharon High School, third prize.
Language Games -- Geraldine Truog, West Middlesex High School; Laura Cuff, Wilmington ; Anna Marie Mindocino, Kennedy Catholic; and Amy Carroll, Sharon , all first prize; and Andrew Wiesen and Laura Selenchik, both Kennedy Catholic, both second-prize.
