SHARPSVILLE/SHARON

One crash, two drivers, cops say

Two Sharon men were charged with drunken driving after they each admitted to driving a car involved in an accident, police said.

Sharon police said they spotted a car with extensive front-end damage and a blown tire at Dock Street and Orchard Avenue at about 9:55 p.m. Saturday and that Ronald A. Swogger, 30, of 679 New Castle Ave., was driving it.

Police said they learned the car had been involved in a hit-and-run accident a short time earlier in Sharpsville.

Raymond LeRoy Biro, 35, also of 679 New Castle Ave., was driving the car in Sharpsville when he hit a parked car at 9:45 p.m. on Main Street and drove away, Sharpsville police said.

The men admitted Biro was driving during the accident and Swogger was a passenger at the time, police said.

In addition to the drunken driving charges, Swogger was charged with reckless driving and a fugitive warrant from Trumbull County for failure to appear, police said.

Biro was also charged with causing an accident involving damage to an unattended vehicle and careless driving, police said.
