EAGLE Doris Leora Troy Homemaker liked to write poems, read Bible, play piano A funeral service will be Wednesday (5-8-02) for Doris Leora Troy, Woodland Place, 745 Greenville Road, Coolspring Township, formerly of South Pymatuning Township. She died of natural causes at 2:10 p.m. Sunday (5-5-02) in the nursing home. She was 99. Mrs. Troy was born Feb. 22, 1903, in Johnstown, Pa., to Adam J. and Alberta Paul Keafer. She was a homemaker and a Protestant. She was a dedicated Christian who loved to read the Bible. She enjoyed playing the piano and organ and writing poetry. Her husband, Robert Paul Troy, whom she married in 1921, died June 28, 1963. Surviving are: two daughters, Mrs. Doris Mihocko, Phoenix; and Mrs. Helen Klein, Raleigh, N.C.; two sons, Robert A. Troy and his wife, Virginia, South Boston, Va.; and James P. Troy and his wife, Elaine, Schenectady, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
TROY Leroy Arnold Leathe Leroy Arnold Leathe, 185 Roma Drive, West Middlesex, was stillborn at 11:40 p.m. May 3, 2002, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. Surviving are: his parents, Robert and Becky Myers Leathe; a sister, Sarah Leathe; and two brothers, Robert Leathe and Nicholas Leathe, all at home; and his grandparents, Vernon and Janet Alden, Ellwood City; Leslie and Ruby Myers, Reno, Venango County; James and June Beckley, Middletown, Pa.; Robert Leathe, Massachusetts; and Daniel Douglass, Oil City. He was preceded in death by two infant brothers, Alan James and Aaron Carter Leathe; and his grandmother, Linda Douglass.

SIPOS Sophia W. Cvelbar Rudley St. John's Ukrainian church member was homemaker Funeral service will be Wednesday (5-8-02) for Sophia W. Cvelbar Rudley, 270 Cohassett Drive, Hermitage. She passed away at 5:15 p.m. Sunday (5-5-02), in Hospitality Care Center of Hermitage. She was 84. Mrs. Rudley was born May 19, 1917, in Homer City, Pa., to Alexander and Anastasia Daskivich Wasmak. She was a homemaker and member of St. John's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Sharon, and its Mothers and Daughters Sisterhood. The member of Order of the Eastern Star Sharon Chapter 242 enjoyed gardening and card playing. Her first husband, Louis Cvelbar, whom she married Oct. 31, 1937, died Feb. 10, 1971. Surviving are: her husband, Andrew Rudley, whom she married Feb. 14, 1986, at home; one son, Louis P. Cvelbar and his wife, Sally E., Los Angeles; two sisters, Helen Lysohir, Hermitage; and Mrs. Paul (Frances) Madden, Sharon; one stepson, Otto Rudley and his wife, Marci, New Castle; and two stepgrandchildren. Besides her first husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, an infant and Gloria Rudley on Nov. 20, 1970; four sisters, Mary Kush, Ann Seginak, Rose Kaye and Catherine Douds; and one brother, Nicholas Wasmak. Aletha C. Humphrey Former Harrisville resident, church member was teacher Aletha C. Humphrey, Stuart, Fla., formerly of St. Cloud, Fla.; and Harrisville, died at 7:50 a.m. May 5, 2002, in Martin Nursing and Restorative Care Center, Stuart. She was 99. Mrs. Humphrey was born Feb. 20, 1903, in Marion Township, Butler County, to William and Margaret M. Atwell Critchlow. She graduated from the former Harrisville High School and in 1921 from Slippery Rock Normal School, now Slippery Rock University. Mrs. Humphrey was a teacher at Browntown and White Oak One Room School houses and also taught in Forestville, Pa.; and Harrisville. She was a member of Harrisville United Methodist Church and attended United Methodist Church of St. Cloud. The former Sunday School teacher was a member of Epworth League of the Harrisville church. Mrs. Humphrey was an avid quilter and played Bridge and 500 cards. She was a former bowler and member of Order of the Eastern Star Grove City Chapter 86. Her husband, Arthur E. "Sy" Humphrey, whom she married Aug. 31, 1924, died Oct. 5, 1986. Surviving are: two daughters, Mrs. Ben (Joyce) Hoffman, Jensen Beach, Fla.; and Mrs. Robert (Janice) Giesler, Stuart; one son, Dr. David W. Humphrey, Clarion; one brother, Warren H. Critchlow, Harrisville; eight grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Carol D. HUMPHREY Grace A. McCleary Homemaker was member of Balm United Methodist Grace A. McCleary, Trinity Living Center, Grove City, died at 9:45 p.m. Monday (5-6-02) in the nursing home where she had lived since 1995. She was 95. Mrs. McCleary was born June 3, 1905, in Grove City to William and Nettie May Styers McWilliams. She was a homemaker and a member of Balm United Methodist Church, Blacktown. Mrs. McCleary enjoyed crafts and church activites at the former Pardoe United Methodist Church. Her husband, Thomas F. McCleary, whom she married July 6, 1927, died Aug. 23, 1972. Surviving are: two sons, Gary T. McCleary and his wife, Frances, Mercer; and David L. McCleary, Grove City; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, William McCleary; two sisters, Gertrude McGuire and Bertha Moon; and one brother, George McWilliams.
McCLEARY Arthur W. 'Bud' Walker Former Sharon policeman retired as insurance appraiser Funeral service will be Thursday (5-9-02) for Arthur W. "Bud" Walker, 359 Shady Ave., Sharon. He died at 10:07 a.m. Sunday, May 5, 2002, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. He was 79. Mr. Walker was born Oct. 11, 1922, in Girard, Ohio, to Arthur Benjamin and Alice Irene Reagan Walker. The 1940 Hubbard High School alumnus was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army's 781st Tank Battalion in the European theater of operations. He was a member of Church of the Sacred Heart, Sharon. Mr. Walker retired from Motorist Mutual Insurance Co. in 1989 as a senior appraiser. Before being employed by the insurance company, he was a policeman for the City of Sharon and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. Surviving are: his wife, the former Shirley J. Leipheimer, whom he married Oct. 14, 1946; one son, Attorney Keith Walker and his wife, Patricia, Warren, Ohio; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Lillian McNally and Doris Kiley. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 59 N. Crescent Drive, Hermitage 16148.
WALKER Larry J. Kephart Sheepfold Ministries member was self-employed handyman The following obituary is being reprinted from Monday to include an omission made by The Herald. Larry J. Kephart, 1395 Bolde Drive, Hermitage, passed away Saturday (5-4-02) in the intensive care unit of the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System following a brief illness. He was 46. He was born Aug. 10, 1955, in Sharon, the son of Jasper and Irene Munnal Kephart. He later enlisted in the U.S. Army. Mr. Kephart was a self-employed handyman and worked primarily as a roofer and painter. He belonged to Sheepfold Ministries, Sharon. Surviving are: his wife, Kathy Elaine; four daughters, Elaine Marie Neiswonger, Mercer; Melissa Lynn Anderson and her husband Walter, Hermitage; Janet Lee Deal and her husband, Raymond, Sharon; and Amanda Rae Kephart, at home; a sister, Linda Negrea and her husband, John, Sharon; five brothers, Richard D. Kephart and his wife Helen, Sharon; John E. Kephart and his wife, Jo Ann, Hartford; George W. Kephart and his wife, Donna, Sharon; Jasper L. Kephart, Sharon; and Charles E. Bordell and his wife, Kathy, Hermitage; a brother-in-law, Robert Hummell, West Middlesex; and five grandchildren, Hannah M., Jonathan M. and Trinity Neiswonger; and Catlin Nicole Anderson and Raymond Harold Deal Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Joanne Hummell.
