Winners named in 4th recycling poster contest

The following local students were named winners of the fourth annual recycling poster contest hosted by Mercer County Solid Waste Authority in Hermitage:

  • First grade -- John-Michael Guerino of Farrell Elementary School.

  • Second grade -- Emily Chess of Notre Dame School, Hermitage.

  • Third grade -- Katie Feeney, of Notre Dame.

  • Fourth grade -- Laura Seiple, of St. Michael School, Greenville.

  • Fifth grade -- Tyler Marini, East Elementary School, Greenville.

  • Sixth grade and overall -- Michelle Miller of Case Avenue Elementary School, Sharon.

    Winners received a $150 U.S. savings bond and the overall winner received a $300 bond.

    The students received "Made from Recycled Content" items including coloring books, crayons and piggy banks.
