Esther Cohen Obituary was published 5-1-02 A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. June 2, 2002, in Ohev Tzedek Temple, Glenwood Avenue, Youngstown. Kenneth Roth Kenneth Roth, 1132 Thomas Road, Hubbard, died at 7:55 a.m. Tuesday (5-7-02) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. He was 59. Obituary information was incomplete.
ROTH Marie A. Kolesar Cheza Homemaker belonged to St. Ann's Church Marie A. Kolesar Cheza, Hermitage, formerly of Pearrell Drive, Sharon; and of Farrell, died of natural causes at 8:10 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2002, in Nugent Convalescent Home, Hermitage. She was 93. Mrs. Cheza was born May 2, 1909, in Braddock, Pa., to John Kolesar and Ann Churlik Kolesar. A homemaker, she was a member of St. Ann's Church in Farrell. Her husband, Stephen F. Cheza, whom she married Aug. 19, 1931, died May 21, 1982. Surviving are: two daughters, Elaine Bitchko, wife of Leonard, Farrell; and Joanne Hydos, Youngs-town; three sons, Richard Cheza, husband of Judy, Brookfield; Donald Cheza, husband of Katherine, Lorton, Va.; and Eugene Cheza, Sharon; a sister, Ann Dankanyin, El Segundo, Calif.; a brother, Michael Kolesar, Greenville; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, Mrs. Cheza was preceded in death by her parents; and a granddaughter, Karen Hydos.
CHEZA Katherine Fonagy Katherine Fonagy, 1377 Bedford Road, Masury, died at 1:21 a.m. today (5-8-02) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 76. Obituary information was incomplete.
FONAGY Carol Ann Eagle '86 Lakeview grad owned Jackson Center business A funeral service will be held Thursday for Carol Ann Eagle of 144 S. Cottage Road, Jackson Township. She died at 9:45 p.m. Monday (5-6-02) in her home. She was 34. Carol Ann was born Oct. 18, 1967, in Sharon to William W. and Allie C. Boggs Eagle. She was a 1986 graduate of Lakeview High School and a 1993 graduate of Penn State Cosmetology Academy in Sharon. Carol Ann owned and operated Carol Ann's Hair Styling and Tanning of Jackson Center for nine years. She was a member of the Coolspring Presbyterian Church in Fairview Township. Carol Ann loved to spend time with her two sons and was very active with them. She also enjoyed riding Motocross. In her earlier years, she was active in the 4-H Club, where she participated in barrel racing and team penning. Carol Ann loved the outdoors and loved life to the fullest. She is survived by: two sons, Jones W. Philson and Jacob "Jake" P. Philson, both at home; their father, Pat Philson, Mercer; her parents, also Mercer; one sister, Mrs. Kevin (Renee) Nickel; one niece, Shayna Nickel; and one nephew, Adam Nickel, all Transfer. Carol Ann was preceded in death by one nephew, Kenneth Nickel. Memorial contributions may be made to Coolspring Presbyterian Church, 787 Coolspring Church Road, Mercer 16137.
EAGLE Elsie A. Little Homemaker was partner in family farm, active in church Elsie A. Little, 228-1 Bend Hill Road, Fredonia, died at 10:32 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2002, in UPMC Horizon, Greenville, after a brief illness. She was 90. Mrs. Little was born April 6, 1912, in West Middlesex to Ralph Minner and Mary Shollenberger Minner. A homemaker, she was a fully active partner in the family farm. As a 40-year member of St. Mark's United Church of Christ, New Hamburg, Mrs. Little served in church organizations as an officer of three clubs including the Women's Guild, Quilters Club and Countryside Garden Club. She also enjoyed gardening, quilting, crocheting and spending time with her family. Her husband, C. James Little, whom she married June 11, 1932, died Nov. 20, 1988. Surviving are: two daughters, Mrs. Tom (Faith) Waida, Fredonia; and Mrs. Chris (Linda Little) Bessette, Virgennes, Vt.; a son, Joseph Little and his wife Diana, Leslie, Mich.; a sister, Ida Belle Garrett and her husband Lyle; and a brother, Leroy Minner and his wife Mary, all West Middlesex; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, Mrs. Little was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Dale James Little and John Lee Little; and seven sisters, Irene, Grace, Hazel, Alice, Gladys, Martha and Mary; and one brother, Logan. LITTLE Margaret Sipos Homemaker was organist at Bethlehem Presbyterian A funeral service will be held Thursday for Margaret Sipos, 52 S. Mercer Ave., Sharpsville. She died of natural causes at 9:45 p.m. Monday (5-6-02) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 85. Mrs. Sipos was born Nov. 17, 1916, in Sharon to Andrew Biro and Julia Duruttya Biro. An alumna of the Sharon High School Class of 1934, she graduated from the former Sharon Commercial Institute. Mrs. Sipos was a former secretary for the former Myer Frank furniture store in Farrell. She was a homemaker and loved to cook and sew. As a lifelong member of Bethlehem Presbyterian Church in Sharon, Mrs. Sipos was church organist for more than 50 years and belonged to the church Women's Guild. She was also a member of Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 242; Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem Shrine 8; and Adella Rebekah Lodge 284, all Sharon. Mrs. Sipos enjoyed flying, traveling and sports cars and was an avid mystery book reader. She also loved animals. Her husband, Joseph Sipos, whom she married May 15, 1937, died Feb. 5, 1991. Surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. David (Gaynell) Papay, Hermitage; two sons, Alan J. Sipos and his wife Arlene, Sharon; and Richard S. Sipos and his wife Leah, Sharpsville; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, Mrs. Sipos was preceded in death by her parents; and an infant brother, Andrew Biro. RUDLEY Grace A. McCleary Homemaker was member of Balm United Methodist The following obituary is being reprinted from Tuesday to correct an error by The Herald. Grace A. McCleary, Trinity Living Center, Grove City, died at 9:45 p.m. Monday (5-6-02) in the nursing home where she had lived since 1995. She was 96. Mrs. McCleary was born June 3, 1905, in Grove City to William and Nettie May Styers McWilliams. She was a homemaker and a member of Balm United Methodist Church, Blacktown. Mrs. McCleary enjoyed crafts and church activites at the former Pardoe United Methodist Church. Her husband, Thomas F. McCleary, whom she married July 6, 1927, died Aug. 23, 1972. Surviving are: two sons, Gary T. McCleary and his wife, Frances, Mercer; and David L. McCleary, Grove City; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, William McCleary; two sisters, Gertrude McGuire and Bertha Moon; and one brother, George McWilliams.
McCLEARY Harold C. Leipheimer Westinghouse retiree was WWII vet, lived in Sharon A funeral service will be held Friday for Harold C. Leipheimer of 230 S. Oakland Ave. in Sharon. He passed away at 3:12 a.m. Tuesday (5-7-02) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System following a brief illness. He was 83. Mr. Leipheimer was born May 14, 1918, in Sharon, a son of William and Sabina Lunger Leipheimer. He was an alumnus of Sharon High School. Mr. Leipheimer retired from the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. in 1982, having worked as a machinist for 42 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Sharon. He enjoyed reading, word puzzles and working on his computer. Mr. Leipheimer was a sports enthusiast and his favorite teams hailed from Pittsburgh. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. During World War II, he served in the European theater of operations with the U.S. Army. His wife, the former Wilma Lloyd, whom he married Nov. 25, 1939, passed away March 16, 1992. Surviving are: a daughter, Joyce A. Nodge and her husband James, Palmyra, Pa.; and four sons, Robert W. Leipheimer and his wife Sandra, Conneaut Lake; Harold R. Leipheimer and his wife Janice, Hubbard; William L. Leipheimer, Sharon; and David A. Leipheimer, at home. He also leaves 26 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. Besides his wife, Mr. Leipheimer was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Barbara J. Miller; and a brother, William Leipheimer.
