Westminster lauds longtime employees
Employees of Westminster College in New Wilmington were recognized for more than 560 years of service during the annual employee recognition luncheon May 8 in Russell Dining Hall, on campus.
Six staff members are retiring. Dr. Keen Compher Jr has been an associate biology professor 1993; Dr. James Cummins, Spanish professor since 1963; Dr. Ronald Galbreath, physical education professor since 1974; Patricia Graney, head cashier since 1989; Dr. Frederick Horn, English professor since 1966; and Dr. Kenneth Long, chemistry professor since 1962.
The following received awards for their years of service:
40 years -- Ronald Bergey, accounting professor.
35 years -- Dr. Philip Fawley, biology professor; Liza Green Sodexho Dining Service cook; and Dr. Eugene Sharkey, history professor.
25 years -- Dr. Gary Lilly, associate sociology professor; and Ralph Shelenberger, upholsterer.
20 years -- Kimberlee Christofferson, human resources director.
15 years -- William Birkhead, finance and management services vice president; Steven Connell, grounds supervisor; Michael Cosgrove, crafts supervisor; Evelyn DeSantis, Sodexho Dining Service snack bar cashier; Carol Eberhart, communication assistant; Leslie Kendall, development computer operations coordinator; and Shawn Toomey, head athletic trainer.
10 years -- Stacey Dando, baker; and Kathy Flick, cook, both Sodexho Dining Services; Edward Galanski, electrician; Mary James, alumni relations director; Mandy Medvin, associate psychology professor; Joe Ann Miller, executive secretary; Deborah Mitchell, assistant English and public relations professor; Carol Mounts, gifts processor; James Rhoads Jr., assistant political science professor; Patricia Wallace, custodian; Jennifer Williams, Westminster Fund director; and Carol Yova, Lifelong Learning Program/Continuing Education director.
