Too much water at 1 of 3 local lakesHeavy rain has forced the closing of several areas at Shenango River Lake, but not at Pymatuning or Goddard state parks.
Closed because of water that is 8 feet above normal summer pool are: Clark Recreation and Golden Run Wildlife areas and Hartford, Parkers Landing and Big Bend access areas.
Mahaney Launch ramp is closed, but its picnic area is open.
Camping this weekend is discouraged because of rising water. The New Duck area is closed and reservations have been canceled for this weekend. Many sites are closed due to flooding or lack of electricity.
The Monday opening date may be postponed for campsites 91 through 171. Shenango Launch ramp is open, but courtesy docks cannot be used. RC's Marina has closed its docks and launch ramps but the repair shop and boat sales are open. Neither Pymatuning nor Goddard are closing any areas.
