Party welcomes babies to Sharon

The fourth annual party for families of babies born in Sharon was held May 3 in West Hill Elementary School in Sharon.

The "Welcome to Sharon" program promotes reading to newborns by providing the babies with a packet of books and materials. A personally addressed "Welcome to Sharon" card also is included.

An Infinity Online spokesperson discussed safe Internet usage for children and families and special guests from the community were introduced.

Sharon Family Center demonstrated reading to children and service organizations were on hand to provide information to families. West Hill Elementary's third- and fourth-graders provided songs.

Sharon Rotary Club sends its members to school from November to May where they read to children. Sharon Family Center and other groups provided information to families on the value of reading.

Sharon Lifelong Learning Council presented the event funded by Sharon Rotary club and Sharon City School District.
