University bestows honors on longtime employees
Local residents were among those honored for their years of services as employees of Slippery Rock University.
The following were among those honored:
35 years of service -- Dr. John A. Nichols, Slippery Rock, history.
30 years -- Dr. James H. Fearday, chemistry and physics; Dr. James C. Hughes, geology and the environment; and J. Robert Bruya, art, all Grove City; Dr. Robert Berner, special education; Dr. Kundan L. Bhatia, sociology, anthropology and social work; Dr. William F. Chapman, geography, geology and the environment, Dr. Michael E. Detlefsen and Dr. William F. Lindgren, both mathematics, all Slippery Rock; and Fred J. Livingston, West Middlesex, special education.
25 years -- Bruce G. Boliver, parks and recreation and environmental education; and Sue A. Shuttleworth, music, both Grove City; and Joseph A. Lisciandro, school of business; Dr. George J. Mihalik, allied health; Dr. Gary S. Pechar, exercise and rehabilitative science, all Slippery Rock.
20 years -- Dr. Joan C. Condravy, English, Grove City; and Dr. G. Abbas Mamoozadeh, school of business; and Dr. William F. Williams, English, both Slippery Rock
15 years -- Dr. Robert W. Arnhold, exercise and rehabilitative science, Grove City; and Dr. Marcy J. Leeds, allied health; and Dr. Andrzej Szymanski, mathematics, both Slippery Rock.
10 years -- Dr. Sherry DuPont, elementary education, Grove City; and Robert E. Ogoreuc, physical education and sport management; Dr. Patrick A. Grant, special education; and Dr. Sam R. Thangiah, computer science, all Slippery Rock.
