Celebrities named for series at Westminster

From "Wedding Bell Blues" to South Pacific" and "Snowbird" to "Rhinestone Cowboy," the Westminster College Celebrity Series has set its 2002-03 roster.

The Fifth Dimension, which topped the charts with "Up. Up and Away," "Wedding Bell Blues and "Stoned Soul Picnic," kicks off the series Sept. 28.

All shows are held at Westminster College, New Wilmington.

Also set:

  • The musical "South Pacific," Oct. 4.

  • Anne Murray, who had hits with "Snowbird," "Could I Have This Dance" and "You Needed men," Oct. 29.

  • The Georgian State Dance Company, Nov. 8.

  • Glenn Campbell of "Rhinestone Cowboy" fame singing a Christmas show, Dec. 10.

  • Youngstown Symphony Chorus, Feb. 7.

  • Roger Williams, whose hits include "Autumn Leaves," "Lara's Theme from 'Doctor Zhivago' " and "The Impossible Dream," April 5.

    Two other shows also will be presented, although they are not part of the series' season ticket plan:

  • Christian singer, Sandi Patti, Oct. 9.

  • Folk singer Tom Chapin, Nov. 9.
