Clyde R. 'Bossie' Campbell Korean War vet of Farrell was National Castings retiree A funeral service will be held Saturday for Clyde R. "Bossie" Campbell, 602 Wallis Ave., Farrell. He died Tuesday afternoon (5-21-02) in Specialty Hospital, Youngstown. He was 71. Mr. Campbell was born Nov. 10, 1930, in Lake Coma, Miss., to Albert Campbell and Ethel Mae Thigpen Campbell. He retired in 1982 as a coremaker for National Castings Division of Midland-Ross Corp., Sharon, where he worked for 27 years. A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Campbell served during the Korean conflict. He was a member of Valley Baptist Church, Farrell. Surviving are: his wife, the former Winnie Keller, whom he married Jan. 2, 1954; five sons, Clyde S. Campbell, Lansing, Mich.; Ricky Campbell and his wife Charlotte, Sacramento, Calif.; Glen Campbell and his wife Stacey, Masury; Kenneth Campbell, at home; and Vincent Campbell, Farrell; two daughters, Charlean Campbell, Sharon; and Mrs. Jackie (Gwyn E.) Bell, Columbus, Ohio; two brothers, Jimmy D. Tatum, Bay Springs, Miss.; and James E. Tatum and his wife Ethel, Soso, Mich.; three sisters, Mary N. Clayton and Elsie D. Henry, both Farrell; and Jerlean Brazier, Gulf Port, Mich.; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a loving and caring cousin, William "Nuke" Jones, Wheatland; and a host of nieces, nephews, brothers- and sisters-in-law, cousins, other relatives and friends. Mr. Campbell was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, John H. "Cootney" Tatum; and a son, Ray Charles Campbell.
CAMPBELL Lila Mae 'Molly' Craig Ex-Clintonville woman played in Kitchen Cabinet Orchestra Lila Mae "Molly" Craig, Orchard Manor, Pine Township, formerly of Clintonville, passed away at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday (5-21-02) at United Community Hospital, Pine Township, after an extended illness. She was 88. She was born Jan. 24, 1914, in Pittsburgh to Daniel P. and Sophia B. Erfort Pletsch. She attended Carrick Catholic schools and graduated from Carrick High School. Later she attended adult education classes at Slippery Rock University. Her husband, George W. Craig, whom she married Aug. 28, 1937, passed away in 1968. Mrs. Craig formerly worked in the bakery department of an A&P grocery store in Pittsburgh. She sold Tupperware and Stanley products and traveled for the companies on sales promotion tours. She was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Murrinsville. She was a member and past president of the Clintonville chapter of AARP, the retired persons organization. She belonged to the Harmony Grove Club and was a former member of the Scrubgrass Senior Citizens at Lisbon, Pa. She was also a member of the Kitchen Cabinet Orchestra. Mrs. Craig enjoyed crocheting. She enjoyed playing violin in elementary school. She is survived by: four daughters, Judi Craig Redmond, Grove City; Carrie Huntington, Sharon; Mrs. Kevin (Jan Craig) Olinger, St. Petersburg, Fla.; and Mrs. Al (Diane L.) Thomas, Salem, W.Va.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. James (Grace E.) Kay, Bridgeville, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Clayton (Ida B.) Swift.

REIMOLD Naomi Mae Podleyon Hermitage woman enjoyed gardening, flowers A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday for Naomi Mae Podleyon, 5820 Miller Road, Hermitage. She died at 5 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2002, in her home after an extended illness. She was 76. Mrs. Podleyon was born March 16, 1926, in Baltimore to Howard F. Ashburn Sr. and Pearl King Ashburn. She attended Baltimore area schools and was a member of St. Anthony's Church, Sharon. Mrs. Podleyon enjoyed gardening and flowers. Her husband, John T. Podleyon, whom she married Jan. 12, 1946, died Dec. 9, 2000. Surviving are: two daughters, Mrs. David (Linda) Gassner, Pulaski; and Christine Campbell, Brookfield; a son, John Edward Podleyon and his wife Rose, Hermitage; four sisters, Mrs. Fred (Nettie) Glaeser, Pasadena, Md.; Beverly Jarrell, Glen Burn, Md.; Charlotte Mims, Lakeland, Fla.; and Dorothy O'Neill, Jessup, Md.; two brothers, Howard Ashburn Jr., Pasadena; and Patsy Goddard, Brooklyn Park, Md.; six grandchildren, Brenda Cavender, Pam Saeger, David Vasconi, Michael Campbell, and Joey and Krista Podleyon; and three great-grandchildren, Justen and Amber Cavender; and Makala Saeger. Besides her husband, Mrs. Podleyon was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Leonard Harr.
PODLEYON Wendell P. McCullough Retired electrician was South Py township supervisor A funeral service will be held Saturday for Wendell P. McCullough, 3091 Maplewood Drive, South Pymatuning Township. He died of natural causes at 8:35 p.m. Tuesday (5-21-02) in his residence after an extended illness. He was 72. Mr. McCullough was born Feb. 11, 1930, in Sharon to Emerson McCullough and Sarah Rhodes McCullough. A graduate of Hickory High School Class of 1938, he retired in 1988 after 38 years as an electrician for Local 712 of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Beaver, Pa. Mr. McCullough was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Korea. He was a Protestant and a member of Free and Accepted Masons Kedron Lodge 389, West Middlesex; and Sharpsville Boosters Club. He served as South Pymatuning Township supervisor for 16 years. His first term began in 1977 and he also was elected in 1990 to two more terms. During his tenure, Mr. McCullough was involved in municipal sewer and water systems that enabled the township to grow residentially and commercially. He was also very instrumental in the Bay Woods and Fox Creek developments. Mr. McCullough was a representative for South Pymatuning Township on Mercer County Council of Governments, where he served as president in 1994. He was involved with civic organizations and youth athletic functions and served as a part-time police officer in South Pymatuning Township in the early 1970s. Surviving are: his wife, the former Jeanne E. McNamara, whom he married May 29, 1954, at home; three daughters, Mrs. Jeff (Carol) Marian, Greenville; Lynne McCullough, Girard, Ohio; and Mrs. Joseph (Jane) Loedding, Sharpsville; two sons, David N. McCullough, Sharpsville; and Richard W. McCullough, Roscoe, Ill.; four sisters, Winifred Johnson, Columbus, Ohio; Jessie Farr, San Antonio; Mrs. Robert (Jean) Cubbison, North Royalton, Ohio; and Sarah McCullough, Hermitage; five brothers, Melvin McCullough and his wife Nancy; Duane McCullough and his wife Frances; and Roland McCullough and his wife Marge, all Hermitage; Roger McCullough and his wife Jean, Vienna; and Don McCullough and his wife Scherry, Transfer; and seven grandchildren, Lindsey and Alex Werger; Amanda and Jeffrey McCullough; and Patrick, Elena and Sean Loedding. McCULLOUGH John Washington Sharon man was National Castings worker, LL coach A funeral service will be held Saturday for John Washington, 199 Malleable Ave., Sharon. He died Tuesday morning (5-21-02) in his residence. He was 67. Mr. Washington was born Oct. 5, 1934, in Gary, Ind., to John and Enola Washington. He was employed by the former National Castings Division of Midland-Ross Corp., Sharon, and later worked in maintenance for Sharon School District and The Herald, Sharon. Mr. Washington's hobbies included fishing and hunting. He served as a baseball coach for 20 years with Sharon Little League. His wife, the former Marian Maxwell, whom he married Aug. 21, 1958, died Feb. 26, 2001. Surviving are: three sons, Gregory Ward, West Virginia; Kevin Washington, Clark; and Michael Washington, at home; a daughter, Lenise Frost, Youngstown; his father, Montgomery, Ala.; two brothers, Leonard Washington and his wife Floria; and Robert Washington; and a sister, Betty Kelly, all Gary; and nine grandchildren. Besides his wife, Mr. Washington was preceded in death by his mother; a brother, Herbert Washington; and a son, John E. "Scooter" Washington.
