Suspect in bakery robbery arrested
One of two suspects in the April 6 robbery of Metz Bakery Co. was arrested Tuesday, police said.
Everette R. Johnson, 20, Youngstown, was arrested at 10:42 a.m. on a warrant for robbery, criminal conspiracy, theft and receiving stolen property at District Justice James E. McMahon's Sharon office.
Johnson was taken to Mercer County Jail after failing to post $10,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is set for 10 a.m. June 6.
Two men robbed the 981 Division St. bakery at gunpoint at 7:45 a.m. April 6.
The suspects fled the scene in a 1995 maroon Oldsmobile, which was reported stolen that morning from Youngstown, police said.
Youngstown police found Johnson in the stolen vehicle on April 9 and charged him with receiving stolen property, Sharon police said.
The other suspect is still at large, police said.
