Dad's Day car show site moves to SV mall

Shenango Valley Antique Automobile Club of America will sponsor its 20th annual Father's Day car show from noon to 5 p.m. June 16.

Due to road construction, the traditional site on East State Street has been moved to Shenango Valley Mall, Hermitage.

A 1961 Cadillac Fleetwood 60 Special, owned by Jack Moss, will be this year's feature car. The automobile, the last of the wide white wall tires and tailfins, has been in his family since 1967 and cost $6,000 when new. It has logged 35,000 miles.

A class for original cars will be added this year. Restored, repainted and reupholstered vehicles will not be accepted in that category.

More than 100 trophies will be given and more than 600 cars and trucks, valued together at more than $6 million, are expected to take part. About 30,000 spectators will attend.

Information: Fred Ross, (330) 534-4188, or Rick Gurrera, (724) 342-5340.
