HERMITAGE

Photo posted of suspected bank robber

A surveillance camera's image of the suspect in the May 24 robbery of a National City Bank branch in Hermitage has been posted with the Hermitage police and on an FBI Web site.

The FBI describes the suspect as a chubby-faced, medium-skin tone white man in his mid-30s. He is between 5 feet, 5 inches and 5 feet, 7 inches tall with a stocky build and flabby stomach, weighing about 200 pounds.

At the time of the robbery, he wore a collared black shirt with black buttons, under a brown or tan tweed-style sports coat, and a black, felt beret.

The suspect sported a thin mustache and reddish-colored goatee and had clean-cut hair and short nails.

The bank on East State Street at Kerrwood Drive was robbed at 7:10 p.m. May 24. The man calmly handed a teller a manila envelope with a threatening note demanding cash, and then left the bank with an undetermined amount of money, the FBI said.

Anyone with details of the crime or who can identify the man in the photo is asked to call Hermitage police at (724) 983-6780 or the FBI's office in Cranberry Township, Butler County, at (724) 778-8801.
