Police seek fire starters

The following is this week's Mercer County Crime Solvers case:

  • Crime: Arson and institutional vandalism.

  • Details: A fire occurred at 6 a.m. June 2 at the Notre Dame School Sports Complex on Highland Road in Hermitage. The fire destroyed a storage building and concession stand and caused $50,000 damage. The fire was ruled an arson.

    Several juveniles were seen in the area just prior to the fire.

  • Call: Crime Solvers at (724) 347-HELP, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Callers can remain anonymous and still be eligible for a cash reward. Anyone with information can also call Hermitage police at (724) 983-6780 ext. 670.

  • Reward: Crime Solvers is a non-profit organization which offers cash rewards of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of anyone responsible for a serious crime in the Mercer County area.
