Caroline Madasz Dell Homemaker worked with first husband in funeral home Caroline Madasz Dell, of 7291 Oakwood Drive, Brookfield, died at 7:20 p.m. Friday (6-07-02) at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown. She was 75. Mrs. Dell was born on Aug. 9, 1926 in Wadsworth, Ohio, a daughter of Alexander and Caroline Szalai Zoltai. She was a 1943 graduate of Elyria (Ohio) High School. Caroline was a homemaker and had worked with her first husband, John Madasz Jr., in the Madasz Funeral Home for 35 years. Her memberships included the Brookfield United Methodist Church; the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #518, Hartford, Ohio; and the Wednesday Luncheon Club. Caroline's first husband, whom she married June 22, 1946, died Aug. 14, 1991. She is survived by her second husband, George J. Dell, whom she married April 30, 1995. Other survivors include two sons, John Madasz III and wife, Jill, Brookfield, and Larry R. Madasz and wife Lou Ann, Brookfield; a daughter, Diane C. Madison, San Leandro, Calif.; three brothers, William Zoltai, Venice Fla., Elmer Zoltai and Zoltan Zoltai, both of Elyria, Ohio; and three grandchildren, Jason, Jessica and Jeremy Madasz. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Anthony, Alex and Alfred Zoltai; and a sister, Helen Barr. DELL Frieda T. Held Former nanny was born in Germany Frieda T. Held, 95, of 1038 Fredonia Road, Stoneboro, died at 2:05 a.m. Saturday (6-08-02) in Orchard Manor Nursing Home, Pine Township, after a period of failing health. She was 95. Mrs. Held was born July 4, 1906 in Aschaffensburg, Germany, to Joseph and Anna (Liebold) Oberle. She attended school in Germany and at age 16 came to the United States through port in Boston. Mrs. Held worked as a nanny in the Pittsburgh area for many years before moving to Stoneboro. She was a member of the Stoneboro United Methodist Church, the Stoneboro Chapter #110 Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Golden Agers. Her first husband, Carl Grossman, whom she married May 17, 1925, died June 26, 1948. Her second husband, George Held, died in 1977. Mrs. Held is survived by a sister, Margaret Terby, of Pittsburgh, and a niece, Carol Abbey-Danke, of Woodland Hills, Calif. She is also survived by her caregiver, Sue Heffren, of Jackson Center. She was preceded in death by her two husbands; one son, Carl F. "Carlie" Grossman, who was killed in action April 25, 1945; one sister and one brother. HELD William D. McKee Shenango Twp. man was avid motorcycle rider, veteran William D. McKee, of 2861 Mercer-West Middlesex Road, Shenango Township, died at 2:50 p.m. Saturday (6-08-02) in UPMC Horizon, Farrell, after a short illness. He was 63. Mr. McKee was born on Nov. 24, 1938 in East Brady, Pa., to Lorraine O. McKee and Ruth H. Milliren. He was employed by Pine Tree Village Apartments, Shenango Township, as a maintenance supervisor for 17 years until he retired on May 1. He had previously worked as a painter for Westinghouse Manufacturing Corporation in Sharon for 20 years. A Methodist, Mr. McKee was an avid motorcycle rider. He served in the U.S. Army in Europe from 1958 to 1961. He married Mary Wagner on Feb. 18, 1981. He was previously married to Janet Gearhart of Sharon and Donna Spangler, who is deceased. Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Janet Robbins of Texas and Christina McKee of New York; a stepdaughter, Debra Lohr of Hermitage; a son, William O. McKee of Erie; a sister, Barbara, wife of Bruce Johnson, of Hermitage; a stepgrandchild, Joseph Usko of Hermitage; and three grandchildren, William Robbins of Mercer and Kaitlin and William McKee of Tidioute, Pa. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church, Main Street, West Middlesex.
MCKEE Martha Elizabeth Rollins Martha Elizabeth Black Rollins, of Friendship Village, Upper St. Clair, formerly of Grove City, died on Friday (6-7-02) at Friendship Village. She was 86. Mrs. Rollins was born on Oct. 30, 1915 in Polk, Pa., to the late Dr. B.A. and Clara Freeland Black. She married W.S. Rollins, who died in August 1981. Mrs. Rollins was a homemaker and a member of Tower Presbyterian Church in Grove City. She graduated from Grove City High School, Grove City College, Wilson College in Chambersburg, Pa., and Margaret Morrison--Carnegie Mellon. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. B.L. "Martha" "Muff" Bobo, of Bethel Park, Pa.; one granddaughter, Beth Mathias, and husband Chris Mathias of Glenshaw, Pa.; and two great-grandchildren, Matthew and Erin Mathias. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son-in-law, B.L. Bobo, and her parents. Memorial contributions may be made to Friendship Village Health Care Center Employee Appreciation Fund, 1290 Boyce Road, Upper St. Clair, Pa. 15241; and to Odyssey Hospice Park, West 1 Suite 500, Cliff Mine Road, Pittsburgh 15275.
ROLLINS Raymond Lenkner Sr. Raymond Lenkner Sr., of 402 Union St., Grove City, died at 12:36 a.m. Saturday (6-08-02) in United Community Hospital, Pine Township, after a two-month illness. He was 66. He was born March 11, 1936, in Grove City. Obituary information was incomplete.
LENKNER Bernard A. Manilla Bernard A. Manilla, of 765 Fisher Hill, Sharon, died unexpectedly Saturday (6-08-02) in Frederick Memorial Hospital, Frederick, Md., of an apparent heart attack. He was 77. Obituary information was incomplete.
MANILLA Ann D. Crompton Farrell woman worked for Westinghouse during WWII A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday for Mrs. Ann D. Crompton of Lincoln Avenue, Farrell, who passed away at 7:23 p.m. Friday (6-7-02) in the intensive care unit of Sharon Regional Health System following a brief illness. She was 85. Mrs. Crompton was born on March 11, 1917, in Farrell, the daughter of George and Lena Coras Moldovan. A homemaker for most of her life, she had worked during World War II for the former Sharon Transformer Division of the Westinghouse Electric Corporation as a coil winder. She was a member of St. Ann's Church in Farrell. Mrs. Crompton enjoyed baking, reading and playing cards. She was a 50-year member of the Variety girls' card club for more than 50 years. Her husband, David G. "Di" Crompton, whom she married on July 19, 1947, passed away on June 10, 1991. She leaves her son, David W. Crompton, and his wife, Patricia, of Hermitage; a sister, Jennie Misik, of Farrell; and a brother, Samuel J. Moldovan, and his wife Barbara, of North Canton, Ohio. Her husband and two brothers, Charles and George Moldovan, preceded her in death.
