VIENNA, Ohio

Airport may lose last carrier

And then there was none. At least it looks that way as Northwest Airlines has applied to the U.S. Department of Transportation to discontinue service at Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport.

Northwest is the airport's last carrier and will probably stop service on Sept. 8. The airlines said it wasn't financially viable to continue service at the airport. Currently Northwest has two flights out of the airport to Detroit with a layover at Akron and averages 400 passengers a month, about a third of all passenger volume at the airport.
