WOLF CREEK TOWNSHIP

Father killed, wife, child hurt in crash on interstate

An Ohio man was killed and his wife and daughter injured in a sport utility vehicle crash at 4:40 p.m. Friday on Interstate 80 in Wolf Creek Township, state police said.

Jeffrey E. Siss, 44, of Shaker Heights, Ohio, was pronounced dead at the scene by Mercer County Deputy Coroner Scott A. Black, who said Siss died of injuries to his head and chest, according to a news release from the coroner's office.

Police said Siss lost control of his 1997 Nissan Pathfinder and it traveled off the road, rolling four times. Siss was thrown from the SUV before it came to rest on its wheels, police said.

His wife, Barbara A. Watts-Siss, 47, was flown to UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh, where she was in fair condition on Saturday, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Their daughter, Marina Siss, 7, was treated at United Community Hospital, Pine Township, a spokeswoman said.

Pine Township and Jackson Center firefighters assisted at the scene.
