Sharon man dies of injuries sustained in 1-vehicle crash

A Sharon man has died of accident-related injuries stemming from a one-vehicle crash that occurred Friday morning in Hermitage, police said.

Marc Bartholomew, 41, of 1004 Memorial Blvd., Sharon, was pronounced dead at 5:51 p.m. Monday at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh, where he had been flown following the accident, police said.

According to police, Bartholomew was driving a pick-up truck north on South Keel Ridge Road, just north of the intersection of South Neshannock Road, at about 9:45 a.m. when his truck went off the right side of the road and struck a tree.

He was taken to UPMC Horizon, Farrell, then flown to Pittsburgh. Police said the cause of the accident was unknown.
