A preliminary hearing was continued Wednesday for a Farrell man arrested in June on charges of raping a 30-year-old Sharon woman in Wheatland.

William L. Taylor, 38, of 615 Wallis Ave., Farrell, was arrested at 12:30 p.m. June 23 at home on charges of rape, aggravated assault, making terroristic threats, kidnapping and indecent assault, said Southwest Mercer County Regional police.

Taylor allegedly picked up the woman in Sharon to give her a ride home, but instead drove to Wheatland where he raped her, police said.

A preliminary hearing is set for 10 a.m. July 12.
