Boy's condition stable after car-bike accident
A 6-year-old Jamestown boy was listed in critical but stable condition today at Children's Hospital, Pittsburgh, after suffering injuries at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in a bicycle-car crash in Greene Township, according to a nursing supervisor.
Kyle Melton and his father Don Melton, Jamestown, were riding their bikes in the 600 block of West Jamestown Road about a mile east of Ray Road, when an eastbound car driven by Kristi Fenton, 21, of Jamestown, came around the corner and hit them from behind, police and Jamestown firefighters said.
The Meltons and Ms. Fenton were taken to UPMC Horizon, Greenville, and Kyle was later transported to Pittsburgh, police said. Melton and Ms. Fenton were treated and released, police said.
