Man faces haunted house groping charges

A 43-year-old Pine Township man was charged nine months after he allegedly groped a teen-age girl and made lewd comments to other girls Oct. 7, in the Grove City Haunted House on state Route 173 in Wolf Creek Township, state police said.

Robert Mark Herndon, 851 Enterprise Road, was charged this morning with indecent assault, corruption of minors, harassment and stalking and disorderly conduct in District Justice Lawrence T. Silvis' court in Worth Township, according to state Trooper Terence A. Whalen.

Police said Herndon made lewd comments to several 16-year-old girls waiting to enter the haunted house and groped one of them while she was in the haunted house.

Herndon was considered a volunteer at the Halloween attraction, according to Brian Pollock, chief executive officer of M&B productions, Grove City, which ran the event. Some of the proceeds benefited Grove City Life Support. Pollock banned Herndon from the event pending the investigation that began after Oct. 7.
