Moraine announces programs

Moraine State Park has scheduled future programs.

The following events are set for 7 p.m. at McDanel's Launch on the north shore of Moraine State Park, Butler County:

   » Musical tour -- Friday aboard the Nautical Nature. Cost is $6.25 for adult; $5.25 for seniors; $3.50 for children; and $20 for families of five. Reservations are needed.

   » Storytelling -- July 26 aboard the Nautical Nature. Cost is $6.25 for adult; $5.25 for seniors; $3.50 for children; and $20 for families of five. Reservations are needed.

   » Chuck Thorpe and Friends acoustical folk and favorites -- Aug. 14 aboard the Nautical Nature pontoon boat. Cost is $6.25 for adult; $5.25 for seniors; $3.50 for children; and $20 for families of five. Reservations are needed.

The following programs also are planned:

   » "What's a Wetland Worth?" -- 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at Porter's Cove.

   » Osprey -- 11 a.m. to noon Sunday in Shelter 7 at McDanel's Launch, North Shore.

   » "Gypsy Moths and Other Forest Pests" -- 11 a.m. to noon Monday at Hilltop trailhead on South Shore.

   » Walk on the Native Plant/Butterfly Trail -- July 24. Cost is $6.25 for adults; and $5.25 for seniors. Reservations are needed.

   » Wildflowers -- 11 a.m. noon July 25 at the Sunken Garden trailhead on South Shore.

   » Wild teas -- 2 to 3 p.m. July 25 at the Sunken Garden trailhead on South Shore.

   » Pennsylvania Fish -- Noon to 1 p.m. July 27 at McDanel's Launch, North Shore.

   » "Look Out for That..." -- 11 a.m. to noon July 28 on Sunken Garden trailhead.

   » "ID Me" -- 11 a.m. to noon July 29 at Wyggeston trailhead on state Route 528.

   » "Basic Survival" -- 10 a.m. to noon July 30 at Wyggeston trailhead.
