Group of girls involved in brawl by fire station

Firefighters in Sharon this morning hosed blood off of the driveway in front of the station after a brawl Thursday evening left at least two juveniles injured.

Police said they were called to the fire department at 5:45 p.m. because a large group of girls were fighting on the driveway in front of the department. There were between six and eight girls actively fighting and a number of other bystanders, police said.

The fight apparently started in front of an apartment complex on Rombold Road in Hermitage, Sharon police said. The girls all got into cars and traveled into Sharon where they ended up in front of the fire department, police said. It seemed some of the girls were chasing the others, police said.

It was a case of mutual combat, police said. There were no weapons involved except for one girl who took off her shoe and used it to hit others, police said.

Two of the girls were taken to the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System where they were treated for injuries, police said. Firefighters said they offered aid to the girls until ambulances could get there.

Most of the girls were juveniles though there may be a couple of adults involved, police said. Some of the girls were from Hermitage and some from Sharon, police said.

No charges have not been filed yet, police said.
