GREENVILLE

Since 1969, physicians in Greenville have been contributing income from school examinations to a scholarship fund. This money, along with contributions from the Greenville Regional Hospital Surgical Department Hasenplug Fund, and contributions from the UPMC Horizon Medical Staff are used to provide scholarships to medical students from the local area.

The UPMC Horizon Medical Staff Scholarship Trustees recently awarded $1,500 scholarships to:

   » Michelle L. Thompson, daughter of Ron and Marrianne Maurice, Sharon, and Richard and Becky Thompson, Mercer. She is a fourth-year medical student at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine.

   » Kate E. Weber, daughter of Robert and Leigh Weber, Hermitage. She is a third-year student at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.

The $1,000 scholarships were awarded to:

   » Andrew K. Brown, son of Dr. and Mrs. John Brown, Greenville. He is a third-year medical student at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia.

   » Timothy B. Brown, son of Dr. and Mrs. John Brown, Greenville. He is a first-year medical student at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia.

   » Jessica L. DeAngelis, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. James DeAngelis, Hermitage. She is a third-year medical student at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine.

   » Nathan C. DeAngelis, son of Dr. and Mrs. James DeAngelis, Hermitage. He is a first-year medical student at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.

   » Heather N. Multari, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Robert Multari, West Middlesex. She is a fourth-year medical student at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.

The UPMC Horizon Medical Staff Scholarship Trustees encourage medical students from the local area to apply for the annual scholarship. Applications may be secured by contacting Robin Ballish at the Medical Staff Service Department of the hospital, Farrell.
