Cops: Man used MCAR money
to buy porn

A Lackawannock Township man was arrested on a warrant for using a social service agency's money to buy $2,800 worth of pornography online, police said.

Thomas E. Rader, III, 18, of 1202 Bend Road, turned himself in at District Justice Henry Russo's court Wednesday afternoon after a warrant had been filed earlier in the week, police said.

Rader, who used the checking account and routing number of MCAR, Hermitage, to buy pornographic services via computer between May and July, was charged with access device fraud, theft by deception, and unlawful use of a computer, police said.

If convicted of the third-degree felony charges, Rader, who was a former client of the agency that provides services for retarded people, could face up to seven years in prison and fines of up to $15,000 for each charge, according to the Mercer County District Attorney's office.

He was arraigned before Russo Wednesday and released on his own recognizance, police said.
