A second dead bird found in New Wilmington has tested positive for West Nile virus, bringing to eight the number of cases in Lawrence County, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health. There have been four confirmations of the virus in Mercer County.

A total of 46 counties have reported confirmed cases of the disease. Six counties were added Tuesday -- Adams, Clarion, Forest, Pike, Somerset and Tioga.
