Charges against a woman accused of stabbing a man during a fight Aug. 20 at a Russell Street apartment building in Sharon were held to Mercer County Common Pleas Court Thursday by District James E. McMahon, Sharon.

A charge of criminal attempted homicide was dropped against Marcia Lee Fisher, 48, of 300 Russell St., Apartment 5, but charges of aggravated assault and recklessly endangering another person remain against her.

William Edward Flint, 43, of 159 Grandview Ave., Wheatland, said he was attacked by Julia Boatwright -- with whom he was living at 300 Russell at the time -- then Ms. Fisher became involved and allegedly attacked him.

Flint gave the following testimony:

He went to Ms. Boatwright's apartment at 6 a.m. to try to get his car keys back. He'd drunk two 40-ounce beers four hours earlier, but had nothing to drink after that.

Ms. Boatwright was in Ms. Fisher's apartment, and he knocked on the door for about 15 minutes before he went to the apartment of a friend, William Phillips, who also lives in the building. He said he didn't kick the apartment door or damage it.

At about 10 a.m., he found Ms. Boatwright outside and asked for his keys. He said she told him to wait and after about 15 minutes she went to her apartment and found Flint's keys.

Flint said Phillips was with him because he was worried there would be trouble with Ms. Boatwright. Flint left without saying anything to Ms. Boatwright and she became angry.

Ms. Boatwright then attacked Flint and swung a chair at him, he said. Phillips held Ms. Boatwright back and Flint said he was about to get in his car and leave, when he saw Ms. Fisher through the lobby window of the apartment building.

Ms. Fisher was saying something that Flint couldn't hear, so he went to the door and opened it.

Ms. Fisher's public defender, Dan Davis, asked Flint if at that time he said to Ms. Fisher, "What the f

are you looking at b--ch?"

Flint said he "may have said that."

At that point, Flint said, Ms. Fisher began swinging at him, and he grabbed her by the throat and arm and pushed her down to defend himself.

He said he made no physical contact with Ms. Fisher before she attacked him. "I had no reason to grab her prior," he said.

Flint said he saw a yellow box cutter in her hand and realized he was bleeding. The fight then stopped.

"Everything happened very quickly," he said. "I was walking around holding the wound on my head."

Ms. Fisher cut Flint in the right temple, above the right ear, his cheek and under his neck. He received 20 stitches at the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System, police said

Police arrived after the fight ended.

Sharon Capt. Mathew McComb testified that he took a statement from Ms. Fisher, who said she had "an altercation" with Flint after she witnessed his altercation with Ms. Boatwright. She told police she tried to defend herself against Flint and didn't know she had a box cutter in her hand.

Another witness told police that Ms. Fisher said her boyfriend, Timothy Kolsky, gave her the box cutter and she regretted she took it, patrolman Brian Faber said.

Ms. Fisher had been in Mercer County Jail on $25,000 bond since the incident. McMahon reduced her bond to $5,000 with the condition that she have no contact with Flint.
