Edward Ernest Davis Hempfield Twp. man was Hodge Foundry retiree Edward Ernest Davis, 432 Mercer Road, Hempfield Township, passed away at 11:15 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, 2002, in his home of natural causes. He was 72. Mr. Davis was born June 3, 1930, in Villanova, Pa., to Arthur and Amy Davis. He retired as a yard master from Hodge Foundry in Hempfield Township after 25 years of service. Mr. Davis attended the monthly Hodge Foundry Retirees Breakfast. He enjoyed woodworking, wood carving, fishing, playing his harmonica and working in his yard. His wife, the former Florence M. Worrell Danby, whom he married Aug. 12, 1967, survives at home. Surviving besides his wife are: one son, William Danby and his wife Linda, Exton, Pa.; two daughters, Lorraine Morris, Downingtown, Pa.; and Mrs. Robert (Fay) Millard, Sharon; two sisters, Mrs. Jack (Pearl) Clarke, also Downingtown; and June Lewis, Upper Darby, Pa.; two brothers, Earl Davis and his wife Marge, Magnolia, Del.; and Charles "Chickie" Davis and his wife Pat, East Lansdowne, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Arthur Davis; a son-in-law, Joseph Morris; and two great-grandchildren, Brittany Jones and Sean Price.

Margaret 'Peg' Lytle Former WE secretary was homemaker DODGE CITY, Kan. -- Margaret "Peg' Lytle, Dodge City, formerly of Ocala, Fla.; and Sharon, died Thursday morning, Aug. 29, 2002, in her home. She was 81. Mrs. Lytle was born Feb. 20, 1921, in Sharon, a daughter of Hayes Thomas Brooks and Minnie Drungunbolz Brooks. A Dodge City resident since November 2000, she moved from Ocala, Fla., and previously lived in Sharon. Mrs. Lytle attended grade school and high school in Sharon and then attended business college at the former Shenango Valley Commercial Institute. She was a former secretary for Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. Mrs. Lytle was a homemaker and a Baptist by faith, attending First Baptist churches. She belonged to the Sweet Adelines, Ocala, Fla.; and was very supportive of the Republican party. She enjoyed bowling, playing bridge and Scrabble, as well as selling antiques and collectibles. On Dec. 15, 1942, she married Paul Theron Lytle in Sharon. He died Dec. 14, 1997. Survivors include: three daughters, Gloria Spencer and her husband William, Brighton, Mich.; Marcia Shelly and her husband Jerry, Dodge City; and Susan Fitzpatrick, Westland, Mich.; one brother, Hayes F. Brooks, Brookfield; one sister, Virginia Bracken, Westchester, Pa.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, Mrs. Lytle was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Howard J. Brooks. The family suggests memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Hospice of the Prairie.
LYTLE Christian Edward Rodgers Colorado man, formerly of Ill., had relatives here VIRGINIA DALE, Colo. -- A family funeral service will be held Saturday for Christian Edward Rodgers, who lived in Virginia Dale and Denver for the past four years and formerly was of Chatham, Ill., from 1986-98, and from Naples, Fla. He died at 2:45 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, 2002, in a one-car accident near his ranch in Virginia Dale. He was 31. Mr. Rodgers was born Nov. 23, 1970, in Naples, Fla., to Richard and Linda Tyrer. A graduate of the Class of 1989 at Glenwood High School in Chatham, he grew up in the catering and hotel business with his parents. Together in 1988, they established the Lime Street Cafe in Springfield, Ill. He was most recently a chef for a catering company in Denver. A very humble man who found the good in everyone he met, Christian was the type of person who would do anything for anyone. He returned home for Christmas and Mother's Day annually, the latter of which became a celebration in which he gave his mother the day off, cooked family brunch and spent time with the people he loved most. Christian had a special relationship with his son, Phillip, whom others say looked and talked liked his father. They also enjoyed playing golf together. With friends, he bought a 35-acre ranch in Colorado. Christian enjoyed fishing and camping with good friends. Surviving are: his parents, Chatham; one son, Phillip Christian Rodgers, Pensacola, Fla.; one brother, Christopher R. Tyrer, Belair, Fla.; his aunts and uncles, Ray Tangeman and his wife Heather, Naples, Fla.; and David Tyrer, Wigin, England; a great-uncle, Wayne Bice and his wife Susan; and a great-aunt, Christine Rausch, all Grove City; several cousins, including Paul and Jayne Tangeman, Naples, Fla.; Ian and Kelly Tyrer, Wigin; and friends. His friends, R.L. Terrell, Jason and Brenda Roberts, Lisa Avery, Jenelle Courtney and Jody Fields have established a memorial fund for the education of his son, Phillip. Marian Elaine Buskirk Brockway woman had son in Hermitage DuBOIS, Pa. -- Marian Elaine Buskirk, RD 2, Brockway, Pa., died early Thursday morning, Aug. 29, 2002, in DuBois Regional Medical Center West. She was 77. Mrs. Buskirk was born July 14, 1925, in Grandville, Pa., to William Thomas Kearney and Bessie Hamilton McMinn Kearney. She was retired, having worked for 42 years at Brockway Glass. Mrs. Buskirk was a member of Brockway Presbyterian Church; Brockway Progressive Women's Club; and Brockway Older American Senior Citizens. She was an avid bowler for more than 35 years and volunteered her time at the DuBois hospitals. Her husband, Franklin William Buskirk, is deceased. Surviving are: one son, Gary Buskirk and his wife, Kathy, Hermitage; one daughter, Mrs. Donald (Bobbie Jean) Smith, Brockway; two brothers, Donald Kearney, Brockway; and James Kearney, Falls Creek, Pa.; one sister, Georgena Gorham, Nickelville, Pa.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, Mrs. Buskirk was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Gregory Lynn; and one daughter, Rhonda Jo. Memorial contributions may be made to Brockway Presbyterian Church, 817 Main St.; or Highland View Health Care Center, 90 Main St., both Brockway, Pa. 15824; or to the Intensive Care Unit of DuBois Regional Medical Center West, 100 Hospital Ave., DuBois, Pa. 15801.
BUSKIRK Leslie 'Les' Myers Leslie "Les" Myers, 206 St. Glory Road, Hempfield Township, died at 2:25 p.m. Thursday (8-29-02) in his home. He was 85. Obituary information was incomplete.
