A 19-year old Sandy Lake man who was driving back to Camp LeJeune Marine Corps Base in North Carolina has been missing since Tuesday, Pennsylvania state police said Saturday.

Stephen Fredrick Fox II, who had finished basic training and was returning to the base after a short leave, had called his family at 2 p.m. Tuesday telling them that his 1989 pickup had broken down along Interstate 77 near Wytheville, Va., and he was going to call someone to get it repaired.

His family did not hear from him after that, and called early Thursday to report him missing, police said, adding that he did not arrive at the base.

Fox is 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighs 155 pounds, has brown hair with a military-style haircut, and brown eyes, police said.

On his left shoulder, he has a tattoo of the Grim Reaper holding an M-16 rifle. The caption of the tatoo says "Born in Parris Island."

The white Chevy S-10 pickup has oversize wheels and its license plate number is YCC6456. Anyone with any information is asked to call state police in Mercer at (724) 662-6162.
