SANDY LAKE

Missing Marine found in his disabled pickup

A 19-year-old Sandy Lake man whom police declared missing after he failed to show up at a military base in North Carolina has been found.

Stephen Federick Fox II, 19, was located Sunday morning along the roadway in his broken down pickup truck by Henry County, Va., sheriff's deputies, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Fox was driving back to Camp LeJeune Marine Corps Base in North Carolina Tuesday afternoon when he called his family and said that his 1989 pickup had broken down along Interstate 77 near Wytheville Va., and he was going to call someone to get it repaired.

His family did not hear from him after that and reported him missing Thursday after Fox didn't arrive at the base.

When Virginia authorities found Fox, his truck was disabled but he was not hurt, police said.
