Southwest Mercer County Regional Police Commission agreed Tuesday to accept $4,372 from Mercer County Housing Authority for additional patrols of authority property in Farrell. The patrols must be completed by October 31.

The authority had originally planned to eliminate extra patrols now that much of Steel City Terrace has been demolished. Commission Chairman James DeCapua said he asked that some patrols be continued and the authority agreed.

The department will bill the authority for the money for completed patrols.
