Maxine R. Downing Former Stoneboro man retired from Polk Center Maxine R. Downing, 300 Chapel Square Circle, Louisville, Ohio, formerly of 25 Lake St., Stoneboro, died at 7:17 p.m. Monday (9-9-02) in Mercy Medical Center, Canton, Ohio, after an extended illness. She was 77. She was born March 10, 1925, in Greenville to George Henry and Edna Uldene Dunbar Kiser. She attended the former Penn High School, Greenville; and retired in 1987 after 15 years of service from the dietary department of Polk Center. She was of the Methodist faith, an avid bingo player and loved to shop. She enjoyed her family and grandchildren. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. William K. (Karen) Anderson, Louisville; one son, Rodney C. Downing and his wife, Roberta, Stoneboro; four grandsons, John Anderson and his wife, Heidi, Louisville; Steve Anderson and his wife, Amanda, Louisville; and Logan and Dakota Downing, Stoneboro; one granddaughter, Stacy Anderson, Louisville; and one great-grandson, Jace Anderson, Louisville. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, William H. Downing; one infant daughter, Carol Downing; one sister, Mildred Pease; and four brothers, Kenneth, Marvin, Delbert and Harold Kiser.
DOWNING Idella Dessaw Hospital volunteer, GE retiree was of Wheatland Idella Dessaw, 73 Mercer Ave., Wheatland, passed away at 4:24 p.m. Sept. 9, 2002, in the emergency room of UPMC Horizon, Farrell. She was 69. Mrs. Dessaw was born Dec. 30, 1932, in Douglas, Ga., to Gus Harper Sr. and Jessie Mae Chinn Harper. She lived in the Shenango Valley since 1952. She graduated from high school in Douglas and retired on disability after several years of employment as an assembly person with GE Corp. in Grove City. Mrs. Dessaw was a member of House of God -- Keith Dominion in Masury; and volunteered at UPMC Horizon in Farrell. Her husband, Gene Dessaw, whom she married Oct. 10, 1969, died May 14, 1984. Surviving are: four daughters, Mrs. John (Darlene) Mumford, Detroit; Denise Lott, Pompano Beach, Fla.; Mrs. Francois (Michelle Lott) Middleton, Boardman, Ohio; and Mrs. Stanley (Rochelle) Pickens, Farrell; three sons, Darryl Lott and his wife, Clara, Douglas; David Lott and his wife, Patricia, Pompano Beach; and John Lott III and his wife, Barbara, Maysville, Ky.; one sister, Mrs. Leviticus (Annie L.) Moore, Douglas; one brother, Gus Harper Jr. and his wife, Alene, Buffalo, N.Y.; 19 grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Jean Blondell Harper and Mary Louise Harper Street.

Frank P. Fedele Ex-Masury man had been Shenango Steel foreman Frank P. Fedele, Autumn Hills Nursing Home, Niles, Ohio, formerly of 632 S. State Line Road, Masury, died at 1 p.m. Monday (9-9-02) in St. Joseph Riverside Hospital, Warren, Ohio. He was 82. Mr. Fedele was born Nov. 26, 1919, in Sharpsville, the son of Joseph and Rose Rose Fedele. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II.
Mr. Fedele was a member of St. Bernadette Church, Masury, and had been employed as foreman of Pattern Makers at Shenango Steel Fabricators of Sharpsville for 32 years.
Surviving are: five daughters, Judith, wife of Thomas Baldwin, Newport News, Va.; Frances Fedele, Niles; Sandra, wife of John Melnik, Champion, Ohio; Karen, wife of Donald Polando, Fowler; a son, Frank P. Fedele Jr. and his wife, Dess, Hubbard; and seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.

Margaret 'Maggie' Kirila Margaret "Maggie" Kirila, 1353 Churchill Hubbard Road, Youngstown, formerly of Brookfield, died at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday (9-10-02) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 85. Obituary information was incomplete.
KIRILA Justice Alayna Odem Justice Alayna Odem, 1450 Parke Drive, Apartment 1D, Hermitage, passed away at 5:43 p.m. Sept. 9, 2002, in Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital, Cleveland. She was 7 weeks old. Justice was born July 23, 2002, in UPMC Horizon, Farrell, to Tiffany Lee Odem. She was baptized. Surviving are: her mother, at home; her maternal grandmother, Linda Francine Chambers Odem, Hermitage; her maternal great-grandmother, Myrtle R. Chambers, Sharon; her paternal grandparents, Timothy L. and Mavis C. Odem, Sharon; her paternal great-grandparents, Fred L. and Sarah M. Odem, Farrell; her paternal great-great-grandmother, Veola Odem, Farrell; and two aunts, Sharnell Jean Chambers, Columbus, Ohio; and Melinda Ann Odem, Hermitage; and several great-uncles and great-aunts, cousins and friends. Her grandfather and great-great-grandfathers preceded her in death.

John Allen Puskar Sharon Tube retiree was Mason, LL coach John Allen Puskar, 63 Pullam Drive, Shenango Township, died at 9:37 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2002, in UPMC Horizon, Farrell, after an extended illness. He was 60. Mr. Puskar was born Dec. 5, 1941, in Mercer County to Louis and Dorothy King Puskar. He retired Oct. 1, 2001, after 42 years as a craneman with Sharon Tube Corp. Mr. Puskar was of the Presbyterian faith and a member of Free and Accepted Masons Kedron Lodge 389, West Middlesex; and Valley of New Castle, Ancient Scottish Rite. He was a Little League coach and enjoyed hunting, golfing and bowling. Surviving are: his wife, the former Marlene Joyce Chupak, whom he married Aug. 29, 1964; a daughter, Mrs. Carey (Kris) Dworek, West Middlesex; two sons, Jeff Puskar and his wife, Lynn, West Middlesex; and D.J. Puskar and his wife, Sally, Las Vegas; a sister, Mrs. George (Betty Lou), Hoagland, West Middlesex; and two grandchildren, Madeline Dworek and Jacob Puskar. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Puskar.
