A 16-year-old boy faces sexual assault charges for allegedly raping a 12-year-old girl last week in Greenville, Greenville-West Salem Township police said Wednesday.

Police said the boy raped the girl at about 3 a.m. last Thursday at a College Avenue location, police said.

Police said the boy will be held on a juvenile detainer until his hearing on charges of rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and aggravated indecent sexual assault.
