Woman waved gun at teen restaurant worker, police say

A 37-year old Hermitage woman was arrested after brandishing a revolver in the drive-through lane of a fast-food restaurant around 7:20 p.m. Wednesday in the 3100 block of East State Street, police said.

Cindy McGee, 37, of 2170 Homewood Drive, was charged with simple assault, reckless endangerment and possessing a firearm without a license, after she waved a gun at a 16-year old employee standing in the window, police said.

According to police, she had circled the parking lot earlier in the day looking for a certain employee and had returned later with a gun.

Police picked her up around 8 p.m. Wednesday and put her in the Shenango Valley Regional Lock-up. She was arraigned before District Justice Henry Russo Thursday morning and released on her own recognizance. Police said she was later taken for a mental health evaluation at the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System.

Police got a search warrant for her home to look for the revolver. Though they didn't find the gun, police said they found found a box, instructions and ear plugs for a revolver. Ms. McGee claims she was not at the restaurant, police said.
