2 men injured after
car hits utility pole

Two men were injured Friday in a car crash after the car they were riding in hit a utility pole, police said.

The driver Timothy Gabriel, 19, of 401 Park Ave., New Castle, was taken to St. Francis Hospital and later flown to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh after suffering possible internal injuries. A nursing supervisor at Allegheny General said there was no record of Gabriel being there.

His passenger, Carmen J. Ritchie, 21, of Maitland Lane, Neshannock Township, was treated for an eye injury at Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle, police said.

The car was speeding east on state Route 208 in Pulaski Township when Gabriel lost control and hit a utility pole, police said. Pulaski Township Volunteer Fire department and Penn Power company assisted at the scene.
