Schuffert resigns from school board

Reynolds school directors Wednesday accepted the resignation of Elizabeth Schuffert, who has represented West Salem Township on the board since 1995.

In a letter, Mrs. Schuffert said she was resigning with "much regret" due to ill health, which she said has drained her of the "energy and enthusiasm" needed to serve on the school board.

Mrs. Schuffert is the second board member to resign in recent months. In August, Sue Mitchell resigned. She was replaced by John Lowry.

Superintendent Dr. Anthony Trosan said any West Salem Township resident interested in filling the vacancy should send a letter to district offices at 531 Reynolds Road, Greenville 16125, before Nov. 15.

Trosan said the board hopes to conduct interviews during the next work session Nov. 18 and to appoint the new board member Nov. 20.
